The United Christian Apologists Mission

Mission Statement
United Christian Apologists (UCA) strives to be an active community which examines the accuracy and rationality of the scriptures and teachings of the Christian faith.

Apologetics is the concept of studying a belief system in order to establish a defense against objections. Those who study the methods, the history, and the totality of scripture in this field are called apologists. According to the Holy Scriptures, which we believe to be the inspired word of the one true God (called Jehovah), followers are Jesus Christ are to be “…united in mind and thought” (1 Cor. 1:10). On this foundation, the United Christian Apologists is founded.

There is no question that the world we live in is increasingly hostile toward Christians. Earlier today, four Christians in Algeria were imprisoned for preaching the word of God. In Eritrea, simply being a Christian is enough to warrant a jail cell without a trial or formal charges. According to The Bulletin, “more Christians died as the result of persecution in the 20th century than in all previous centuries combined.”

Although alarming, these facts and others like them shouldn’t be surprising. Of the original twelve disciples, only John survived martyrdom to write, “Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution…” (Rev. 2:10). Jesus never promised that he would bring peace to the earth. In Matthew, he told his disciples, “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.” (Matt. 10:34).

As a certain future rolls toward now, Christians have a need to raise higher defenses against worldly persecution. At UCA, we believe that, with better understanding of God, comes better intimacy with God. We hope to foster an inclusive environment where apologetics are within the reach of everyone who desires this intimacy.

I, personally, welcome each one of you to our ministry. I encourage you to question, propose, and help us to move forward with Christ’s kingdom. Although I have started UCA with my fellow apologists in mind, I want everyone to feel comfortable here. I am open to honest and constructive feedback on every aspect of the community. I pray that your time with us is enjoyable, educational, and inspires you to further your own conviction in the way, the truth, and the life.

“If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” - John 8:31,32
